A Very Green Smoothie
My friend shared an amazing secret with me on getting an awesomely creamy consistency for your smoothies, and that's freezing everything that's going into the smoothie (except for the milk obv). So for this the banana should be frozen, all fruit should be frozen, and the spinach could even be frozen! It helps give it the thickness that makes it taste like frozen yogurt without needing to add any extra creamy ingredients.
1 frozen banana
1 handful of spinach leaves
3/4 cup unflavored hemp milk
A few ice cubes
Directions: Blend forever.
I sprinkled this guy with some Portland Granola Company granola to make it feel like I was eating an acai bowl at the same time, so delish! I definitely recommend this granola, it's not too sugary and it mostly oats which I love.
This smoothie is great an hour or so before a workout, it gives me a ton of energy to kick my own butt in the gym. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
